Prior to entering school seriously, Ashido decided to tour with his brothers as the rock band "Chosen Party" for a few seasons. This proved to be a choice which would change all three siblings' lives forever. During a show on a politically volitile planet, the club the band was playing at bombed. It is not known exactly why the club was bombed, as those responsible have been dodgy with their explanations. Ashido's brothers were killed in the blast. The Mite has never recovered fully from this, although he puts on the bravest face and will always offer a helping hand before worrying for himself.
Ashido is a natural albino, but is prone to dying his hair for the sake of appearing more normal. His eyes are naturally pink, however, and fur white. The flames all over his body are tattoos, paid for as a gift from his brothers originally and completed later in their memory. Mites are a very rare species, nearly extinct, and so Ashido is easily recognizable anywhere he goes. Ashido also appears to be physically a woman at times, but this has yet to be fully explained. However, those who know Mites well know the answer.
When Ashido learned who was responsible for planting the bombs that killed his family, he teamed up with the culprit - Sartre the Myche - rather than seeking some revenge. This puzzles many, but Ashido assures that he has his reasons. The two crew a small ship (The Chrisodeo) and run medical supplies for fringe military groups. Although Ashido believes you should forgive people (especially family), one has to then wonder what keeps him in the military, fighting Rulerists.
